Ambulance burnt in Birgunj

Ambulance laden with medicines has been torched by the locals of Nagawa, Birgunj on Wednesday night. According to the Area Police Office, Nagawa, the locals set the ambulance (Na 2 Cha 7586) on fire by taking 50 metre down the road. DSP Arjun Devkota of the District Police Office, Parsa, informed that the fire was doused with the help of security personnel backed by a fire engine of the Birgunj sub-Metropolitan City. The four-wheeler was completely damaged in the arson, Devkota said. He, however, informed that they were able to salvage only some medicines from the ambulance. Locals claimed that they set ablaze the vehicle for illegally carrying medicines and other things during late night.


 


Among the tankers that entered Nepal, 13 were carrying petrol, 21 laden with diesel and one with kerosene, said Mechi Petroleum Association Jhapa Chairperson Laya Prasad Bhandari. Our Biratnagar correspondent Binod Bhandari informed that four diesel carrying tankers and three LPG bullets entered through the Jogbani entry point this morning. Five tankers had entered via this point on Tuesday.
