Hundreds of Nawalparasi folks, including children and elderly, demonstrated and picketed the District Court and the District Administration Office in Nawalparasi district, pressing for stern action against the chief culprit Kodai Harijan as well as his 10 other accomplices.

A third grader at the Shiva Shambhu Primary School at Kudiya, Nawalparashi, the 10-year-old Jivan was killed on July 21 by slitting his throat in the name of appeasing God. The boy’s body was found after three days of the cold blooded murder.
Under the influence of a local shaman, a group of people had kidnapped Jivan while he was playing and the chief culprit Harijan slit his throat believing that his ailing 18-year-old son.
